Question: can you hit a target if you don’t aim first?
If you don’t aim first and know what you are targeting, what will you tend to do? Hesitate? Procrastinate? Wait to see what is going on?
Why? Because you don’t know where to expend your energies.
If you have something you want to achieve, the clearer you are about what you want to achieve the more chance you have of achieving it. Be honest, can you write out your goals with clarity?
If your target is vague and/or impractical, it is so much more difficult to achieve anything. If you don’t know what your target is, how will you know when you’ve achieved it? A vague target means you can’t effectively plan to achieve it.
Your dreams and ambitions won’t just land in your lap neatly gift-wrapped for your enjoyment without you having to do a thing. That is fantasyland, it just does not happen.

Question who do you know that just sat around and suddenly with no effort or action on their part…..boom…. they got want they wanted? This does not happen, does it? So why do we sit around waiting and hoping for “It” to happen? Because at some level we believe that something will happen and we will inherit the money we need or we will win the lottery. How many of you know people that that has happened to? 1? 2? Any? How many??? Not many.

You are the one that has to fulfill your own ambitions. You’re the one that has to stop procrastinating and go out and do what needs to be done to get you what you want in life. That’s why targets are important.
Force yourself to make one step in the right direction towards achieving what you want to achieve and you will see some benefits.
Have you ever wondered why it is that some people seem to have all the luck?
They appear to get whatever they want. Rewards just flood to them. You see it and you want to be just like that.
Well, you can, but you need to get over your procrastination and develop persistence. Persistence is what keeps you achieving and achieving keeps you motivated. With persistence you stop procrastinating and keep getting at least small things done; they all add up – and therefore you keep on achieving results. I will repeat: Persistence is what keeps you achieving and achieving keeps you motivated. All you need is one small step forward, one little positive result and your motivation will return again because you will be believe once more that you can be successful. We overestimate what we can in one year, and underestimate what we can do in 5 years.
How many times have you hit your targets for all activities on a daily basis? Write it down.

What would it have done to your production if you would have done just a few more activities each day for that last 3 months?
What if you had made a few more contacts per work day?
What if you had previewed a few more houses per work day?
What if you had knocked on a few more cold doors each day?
What if you had called a couple of more past clients per week day and told them what a great opportunity this market was?

How many more closed and pending could you have done? 1 more? 2 more? 3 more? 1 more deal in a quarter would be worth about $40,000 to you during the year. 3 more would be worth over $120,000 more.
Stop playing small. Now is your time. Your choice. Put a little more effort out each day. Make a daily target for:
Contacts
Doors
Open houses
Previews
Create the target daily, then go hit the target daily! Now let’s start the process today and make this our best week so far this year!
